Better. Quicker. Easier. Warmer. Further. Thinner. Thicker.
For anyone in the pipeline business currently contemplating expenditure (planned or unexpected) on a new or existing pipeline, it is probable that at least some of the above terms are on the agenda. These objectives are permanently on the technology agenda at Swagelining Limited. Our response is to look at how we can advance our existing technologies or develop new ones to satisfy these requirements. We conduct testing independantly and also with clients, create knowledge, engage engineering and produce an output that extends capability – sometimes just a bit and other times by a large step.
Incremental improvements
Our objective is to improve upon accepted practice. We focus on extending our service delivery or technology capability. Using the lessons learned process, we analyse our performance continuously in the search for improved performance of products, processes and equipment. Applying what we learn today to drive the improvement process for the future.
Step Change
It is easy to look back and see the developments that energised the polymer lining industry. It’s more difficult to look forward and create new developments with the capability to produce major change but at Swagelining Limited that’s our vision. Step changes occur when a capability is confirmed that overcomes a restriction that is preventing polymer lining technology from wider applications. Good examples are the use of new polymer materials and venting technology for pipelines transporting hydrocarbons. Polymer lining is not common place in this application today but with a cost reduction capability up to 40% compared to corrosion resistant alloys, interest within the industry is high and the benefits obvious. This is one of several areas in which Swagelining Limited is currently actively committed to developing a step change in the application of polymer lining technology for the benefit of the industry.
